This old Lady Brenda King, feeds the Ducks, Swans Geese etc at the

Lough, Cork City, when the Weather is very Cold, and The Lough is iced

over, I'm wondering is the Image compostion possibly too Good !!!, i.e

the formation of the Geese is really too good to be realistic ??, and

maybe they look as if they are not Real, and just placed there !! had to

crop off the Sky as it was totally burned out, Thanks for taking a look

and Best Wishes for 2011, John

I know also, there is Lens Flare, through the Image ! But I'm not too worried about it, and don't believe cloning it out etc, as I'd probably ruin it !

This is a great shot. It is usually so hard to get ducks etc. to group themselves obligingly. I think you could crop the sky a bit more so than none shows above the roof tops on the left. Then the focus will be even more on the 'duck feeder'. There, seems to be a more popular restaurant in the background, though!

John...  I think the interesting positioning of the ducks, leading into the frame to the primary subject and then carrying the eye on to the secondary feeding in the background, far outweighs any flare issues.  A very good shot.... Mike

Good piccy.

I really like the boldness of this 'against the light' shot. Your timing combined with the co-operation/positioning of the ducks is very good. I'd be tempted to crop this right above her head; to me the b/g doesn't contribute to the impact of the shot. The flare only adds to the candidness.

Well done.

impressive shot.. i really like the view point/ wide angle here.. the light (except in the top tenth of the frame) is very good.. and no i dnt think the ducks placement looks "too perfect", for example the foremost duck is not fully included in the frame :)    but really very well done.. congrats

An interesting capture !! The ducks are quiet sure of getting their share !

A Happy And Prosperous 2011.

Great perspective!  I love the duck in the bottom right.  The orange looks too saturated to me and distracts from the overall composition.

Nicely done.I like the focal lenght you chose.Try it in BW and burn in the distracting/washed out background.I would be very interested to see it this way,I think it would be quite dramatic.Good job John.

Hi all you Guys, Many thanks for all the Comments, First time one of my Shots generated so many Comments,

Adrienne, Good on ya, Well spotted !!!

Catherine/ Antonio, I'm 5ft 9ins only, Brenda is probably 5ft and the focal length of 17mins probably suggests I'm taller !!!

Philip, Thanks for that suggestion re ; B/W etc, I'm going to give that a bash,

Have to great Nite tonite , be safe and Best Wishes for 2011

John
