Pure as the Driven Snow

I took a photo of this church about 12 months ago, and although it

turned out ok, I thought "hmmm how much better would it look with a bit

of snow" So on Saturday when I got up and looked out of the window

and seen the light covering of snow, I rushed out without any breakfast

or usual 3 cups of tea, and got to the church before anyone could leave

footprints. Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated &

Worth all that tealess chilliness. It is a good feeling when you have waited a year for a particular 'shutter chance' (as the Japanese love to say) and get it right, isn't it. I like this very much.

Hello Alf, An inspirational little story to go with a great photo, I love it. I very much like the strong contrast between the cold aqua color and the warm glow of the church. Very good POV and look no footprints. Enjoy that tea you earned it. Take care and best of everything.

I know what it's like to wait a year to get a good shot.  Beautiful lighting and the angle of light emphasizes the texture of the snow.

 

 

Wonderful detail. I think I would have preferred to have a little more differentiation between the color of the snow and the color of the sky. Except for the pink/lavender hues in the foreground, the sow looks the ame color as the sky to my eyes, which makes the scene a little to unrealistic for my tastes. It's beautifully composed; I'd like to see another version with a little less blue.

A great shot with impressive composition ( although different from the rules ), nice balance of light, balanced colors ( cool and warm both i mean ), and amazing sharpness in the entire scene. F/G light and light on the face of the church seems to be of your car lights, isn,t it?( If so, a creative idea! ;-) ).
