Guest Guest Posted January 6, 2011 Mark, very happy new year to you and yours first of all.I do undersand the low key get a very dramatical appearance of an image, specially with modeling work, here the lighting is far being a lo key but very distractive, the model face eyes and her hair completely vanished in total darkness while the front of the figure is excessively lit, this is may be the two format of light did not help your work.I am sorry, this is how I feel about this image, although my English is of no much help for me to express my opinion.Thank you for sharing it and wishing you all of the best. davidmccracken 2 Posted January 7, 2011 I think Rashed has some valid points but I can clearly see her face. Personally I think some of the hot areas are too hot, particularly the area on her left arm. It is good to try different things and I do think you like light painting. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted January 8, 2011 Rashed - I did intend for those parts of her to fall into the shadows. I only added a bit of light to her face because I thought it would be too odd without. One of my goals with lightpainting is to use it to help abstract the body. By the way, your English is fine.David - The uneven lighting, and the hot spots, is part of the "charm" of the technique. Yes, I like this very much and will do more on a shoot I'm doing soon.-Mark Link to comment
