Hi Stephen.... I see this image has received a number of high ratings and had in excess of 100 views, yet no critique????

So let me be the first to congratulate you on a fine presentation. This image has good clarity and definition and the dull(overcast day?) DoF really accentuates the prime subject. This is a great capture.

You make no mention of your new lens..... it worked well.

Thanks Grayham.  I was searching for a Gyrfalcon that had been spotted a few days earlier.  I did not have any luck, but this Red-tailed Hawk did brighten an otherwise dull day.

You didn't say which lens, but if I were guessing, . . . well at first I thought the EF 100-400 f/4-5.6, but then your EXIF data shows f/6.3, so guess not!

  I actually recently purchased a 400mm f/4 DO IS USM lens.  This picture was taken with that lens and the 1.4x (version 1) extender.
