The newest member of my 'Lights of My Life Club', photographed in the afternoon.  The band aids on her arms were from two immunization shots given in the morning of the same day.  Her usual everyday happy disposition went a long way in overcoming the discomfort of the AM procedure. I was going to offer this one in B&W, my usual preference for people shots, but her little pink toes demanded a colour rendition.   Best, LM.

This is a very attractive capture of a little girl and her comforting possession. Very good colors and details with seamless BG Regards, ifti.

She's so used to being photographed now that when she enters my setup room she goes directly to the seamless paper background and sits down for photos whether invited to or not.  Budding model!  And, of course, I'm most happy to oblige.  :-)  Thanks for your visit.  Best, LM.

I entirely agree with your reasoning for a color version for this one ;)

Loved those band-aids.

No such models on this part of the world, as yet :(

I was at first chastised by some family members for taking the shot with the band-aids in place but I think I've convinced those critics of the charm they add.  I think they indicate, in some small measure, the empathy the clinic staff have for the toddlers they treat.  I also think the patches provide a small uplifting element to an unpleasant but necessary experience. Thanks for stopping by.  Best, LM.

Yes, the colours in this photo is something incredible. Definitely, the accurate lighting gave this beautiful colours as well as the marvelous soft shadows.

Merry Christmas to Jessica, his Friend and Family.

Thanks for your most welcome visit.  The lighting and soft shadows are due to the two Vivitar 283 flash units which were bounced off the white ceiling.  Good for wiggling subjects due to it's wide even spread.  It also helps to retain natural colours & saturation with it's low glare factor.  Best, LM.

fantastic portrait... you sure know what you're doing! the lighting is most impressive... seems Jessica has the fullest confidence in you and knows what she has to do in turn... you two make a great team!

my best wishes for the season, Len.

The lion's share of the credit has to go to my subject with her sunny disposition.  The hard part is picking a winner from the shots taken during the sitting.  I'm biased of course.  After all she is my only granddaughter.  :-)  The setup is simplicity, a roll of white paper background and two flashes bounced off the ceiling, one on either side of the camera. (a third, built into the P&S camera to trigger the other two).  Then wait a couple of seconds for the winning smile.  Best, LM.

Merry Christmas!  Thanks for taking the time & for the validation.  It's a favourite of mine.  Guess I'm just a sucker for little pink toes.  Best, LM.

She is a great model and gives you chance to practice.

My schedule has been crazy and have not had time to post anything. May be after new year.

Merry Christmas to you and yours and happy new year. Regards, ifti.

Nice Card.  Thank you and a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you in return.  The negative space in the upper right was just perfect for the text you've added.  I love it when a plan comes together, don't you?  :-)  Best, LM.

Especially nice to hear from you on this Christmas day which, to the Christian world, represents the peace and hope of which you speak.  Seems to be a common thread here.  Perhaps that common thread will catch on to the rest of the troubled world.  As for the creativity, well that's why I participate here.  Maybe some will rub off on me. :-)  Extending to you the same good wishes for the new year.  This year has been fun.  Let's do it again next year.  Best, LM.

Len, she's a knockout. Enjoy the luxury of a cooperative model. My grandkids are rocket-ships these days or face down in a game. Apart from the pose, your lighting is excellent. What sort of setup are you using? I like the gradual fadeout to the rear of the shot.

And finally, a very Merry Christmas to you and yours. w are already recovering from it down here. Thanks for your comments this year, they are valued.

Thanks for your timely visit.  Still Christmas Day here!  Glad to hear you made it through.  Must be tough in all that heat. <not sure how to sound sarcastic & jealous on the net>.  :-)  Freezing up here!  The pose is the best I could do in the mere nano-seconds she sat still  for me but it worked out OK because I just love her little pink toes.  My setup is described in my 'Details' and in a few of my replies above.  In return, a belated Merry Christmas to you and a Happy New Year as well.  Looking forward to more in 2011.  Stay safe!  Best, LM.
