Hello Zsolt

I like this because you have thought about the lines and layers. Very well seen and composed. The light adds to the overall sentiment. I feel the smell of wood here. Technically it is 1A.

Overall an excellent shot.

Kind regards

I like this peaceful image with its softness and tones.

I'm just not sure about the tones of the trees in the foreground... They seem too much disjoined from the tones of the background... Is this image a blend of two exposures? Maybe you could try to darken the foreground trees until they turn to solid black... Just an experiment, I'm not sure of the result! What do you think about?

Regards, Alberto.

thanks!

Alberto: it is a blend of 3 exposures.

in the original normal exposure shot were underexposed trees in the foreground as you said, not totally black but very dark. that would be the easiest way to go but i dont liked at all how it looks like. that is why i went for this version which is not only much closer to what i saw with my eyes but also much better visually in my opinion. the layer of foreground trees taken from the overexposed shot i added to the normal one with decreased opacity, only slightly, like i saw with my eyes. it is not much brighter than the original one, only have more shadow details.

if you look at it as you usually look at a normal photograph, than it may appear photoshopped. but if you compare it to how it would appear this scene to the naked eye, than it is very close to natural.

best regards!

Zsolt

Hello Zsolt! As has been mentioned, the layers are the focal point of interest here. The light is good. I agree whole heartedly with you about how the scene appears to our eyes and completely disagree with Alberto. Pushing the trees to black would only recreate the scene in a manner that the camera would record it. I am also of the opinion that how our eyes record a scene and how a camera records a scene are completely different. The camera creates silhouettes, our eyes will not see silhouettes unless it is virtually dark. This mage looks totally consistent with how I would expect my eyes to perceive it. As for any opportunities for this photograph, my only thought is that it lacks a strong point of interest. It is good, no doubt, and it does create a peaceful mood, but it has no particular "Wow" factor. If the sky had some side-lighted clouds, it could be improved. If the foreground trees showed more separation or perhaps were receiving some modeling light, that also would enhance it visually. Don't get me wrong, I have many images much like this in my collection that I am proud of, but I am viewing your image more objectively. This is one of those places where I would return during more favorable conditions, such as when the sky has more to offer. Lastly, I find scenes like this draw the viewer in more so if it has some type of natural framing, such as a nearby tree or two. This would also increase the appearance of depth. Still, the stacked layers and converging diagonals make this scene worthy of shooting and appreciating!

Love it! Wish I was there. Really draws me in, though I agree some natural framing would be a nice touch were it available. I like your use of layers to get shadow detail in the foreground trees, and given the lighting I feel the contrast values are good, but the saturation on them seems a touch high to me.

I love the green of the trees in the foreground and detail. a nice view, I believe with a difficult exposure. rate 6 (confirm 6):)

Zsolt, I think I was one of the people who suggested you give the trees more detail.   Thanks for taking a shot at revising the image.  I have done a bit of cropping and editing to cut down the bright green trees in the foreground that likely look a bit incongruous.  I think you have a really nice image here.  Thanks for the work you have done on this.
