Thanks for sharing the tech details. I've just begun to play with backlit subjects since it really gives such a lovely quality to the subject. I've come to about -1 flash compensation on my Maxxum 7. Need to experiment more.

Gloria, this is another of your very nice bird pictures, that I admire /and in fact I am tyoing with an idea of tetting into birds myself.../ I would like to ask, why a fill flash? I don not understand. I assume the bird has been shot from far away /it says the lens was 400/, so how many metres away were you, did the flash have any effect on the light on the birds?
