gloria_hopkins 0 Posted January 17, 2003 These are least bittern fledglings just outside the nest area waiting for a parent to come back with food. I liked the colors and composition with the diamond framing the birds. Link to comment
john_paskey 0 Posted January 17, 2003 Great shot. Good color and composition. It looks like it could be sharper, how is the original with sharpness? - could be the scan or site downsizing. Link to comment
trevor_hopkins 0 Posted January 17, 2003 One of the few wildlife shots we've seen recently that hasn't made me yawn. This is an excellent and humorous capture of an unusual and endearing subject. Nice lighting, too. Link to comment
alan_woolnough 0 Posted January 17, 2003 Yes, i agree with the above comments. They are certainly strange little chaps, at this age. I also like the composition. I assume you needed to spend a fair bit of time introducing a hide, as they appear to be completely unaware of your presence. Link to comment
gloria_hopkins 0 Posted January 18, 2003 Thanks guys! John: It's sharp, but not razor sharp. It's nearly impossible to get anything razor with that lens! Trevor: High marks from you considering your recent "beached whale with open wounds" comment on my lava shot ;) Alan: Nope! The little guys were as tame as could be. They were photographed just off a boardwalk where hundreds of people pass by each day. Thanks again! Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted May 27, 2004 Charming capture. I like the frame created by the four crossed reeds. Link to comment
