With the sun setting on a cold winter Day up in northern Minnesota I

noticed a fresh set of Squirrel tracks in the snow leading up to a tree.

Fantastic image Paul.  The filtered sunset, tree and ( squirrel? ) tracks leading into the photo make this a winner.

The warm tones in a cold winter scene make it unique.

Tell me it's not cropped and I'll like it even more!

A fantastic image of a wonderful opportunity.  The setting sun on the new fallen snow is glorious, and the tracks do a fine job of leading us in.  Personally, I might consider an 8 x 10 format, because a little of the yellows and orange in this sunset go a long way in the capture.  A fine, beautiful image.  I never find cropping an issue, we crop with our feet, our camera, our lens, our PP, etc; unless something has been removed that would have improved the image in design.  Best regards...

This is really a remarkable capture.  You've framed the tracks perfectly, and the squirrel cooperated by putting a curve in its path.  I think DL makes a good point about cropping to an 8x10.  I think the main element here is the set of squirrel tracks, and having "too much" of the sunset colors may detract somewhat from that main element.  Otherwise you end up with two competing elements:  the tracks and a glorious sunset.  There are some arching branches in the two trees on the right; I'd look for a natural crop line there.  Very nice photo!
