marcadamus 1 Posted December 9, 2010 This image was made inside an enormous, intimidating sea tunnel as waves thundered up and down the chamber. Once I saw my opportunity, I'd run in after the receding water, shoot as fast as possible with 2 second exposures and run back out before the next big one came in. The echos and booms off the walls in this chamber, as long as a football field, made for a wild experience. You can tell something about the wave action in here by the fact the rock is wet 30ft off the ground! The mist in the air from all the water action created the diffusion at the opening you see, which I felt added to effect. The cave is located in Oregon and only accessible certain times of the year at the lowest possible tides. Link to comment
daverave 1 Posted December 10, 2010 Interesting juxtaposition with the "Alien Temple" photo next to it... seems to be a theme going on;-) In my very humble opinion, this photo makes a much better story with appreciation for what you'll go through to get a picture than it does an image. While perfectly done as a still perhaps this might have been a great time to try out some video with audio! Link to comment
miles_morgan 0 Posted December 10, 2010 I can't BELIEVE you went in there. Now I know why both your cameras bit the dust! This is freaking amazing. Awesome view. Link to comment

snapshot1 0 Posted December 18, 2010 I would like to see this in color. Description overshadows image which is not as spectacular. If not for the drama of the photogrphaer's peril this would be less than average shot standing alone. Sorry, just the facts. Perhaps focusing on the wave closer w/ light shining through would give some impact. Link to comment
johnolsen 0 Posted December 18, 2010 Like this image alot - it conveys a very mysterious feeling to me. I like the light reflected on the sides of the cave and the bluring of the water which conveys motion. The water is not as blurred right in the center of the frame - what happened here. Guest Guest Posted February 7, 2012 That is awesome Marc. I have to say for a guy running in and running out under the duress of possible drowning you really nailed the shot! It is other worldly. Excellent work as usual.Warm regards,Kelly Way Link to comment
