MJ, thanks for the comment.  This is one of the few photos I took with the Rolleiglex before I sold it and went for a Hasselblad 501cm.  I like the square format, but I also like to use different lenses.

Lovely one. I can keep admiring it all evening. Requires a complete control over the medium and visualization to create this. Lovely work.

It seems you've captured the full spectrum of B&W tones in this......and with perfect exposure!  It's beautiful and remarkable at the same time.  I know exactly where this is, and I have some shots from here during the daylight.  Your constant effort to shoot early and late in the day brings some great results!

Thanks, Christal.  This is one of the very few images that I have that was taken with the Rolleiflex that I owned for a short time.  I enjoyed the camera, but my desire for other Canon lenses required that something had to go.  Of course, now I wish I still had it.....

That is an interesting cloud formation that you have brought to the viewers attention. You have good eye to take notice of this.

Very good composition of a beautiful scene. I think BW is a good choise for this picture.

Good work.

A very strong image! I love the shape of the cloud mimicing the shape of the tree; the black and white calls attention to this more than I think color would. Great eye for the forms in this one and an overall impressive image, beautifully done. Thank you for sharing. :)

It is a very good  image, shoot at Canon beach, from that park north of it. I'm glad to see, not the usual shot.  I like the distant bay as the haystack mysteriously visible. The  image is  very nice. But, myself, I would move to the left, if it possible, to shot  the scenery, positioning the  tree  to the right area of the clouds, not  in-front of the big white cumulus. It is a personal preference. Still a great image Stephen. This image is  supper in b&w. I noticing, some photographers,  one is  my friend,  and others on PN, start to turn to b&w more often. Personally, I like b&w  very much.

Greeting;

Bela

Okay, Two things on this one.

A wonderful b&w capture of this scene. You have captured that towering cumulus cloud perfectly and this is a wonderous scene.

Secondly, This looks like the shoreline from the movie Goonies.

One of the more interesting shots of Canon beach I've seen. Great work on the B&W conversion with all the tones soft, but the sunlit cloud very dramatic and contrasting with the lone tree in perfect silhouette.

Have yon made a print of this? It deserves it.

Mahdieh, Barbara, and Jim, thanks for visiting and for your comments.  Jim, I haven't yet made a print of this, partly because I'm not in the printing mode right now and also because making B&W prints is something I've not yet done (need a different paper and must switch to a different black ink).

Old Ansel would have been proud of this image.

I like that the image is so dark, and that the only light seems to come from the cumulus cloud. The motive is beautiful. And the composition is great.
