Love this, Stephen...so simple yet so beautiful. The fading objects in the mist in the far distance is thought-evoking and mystical. A powerful image.

Thanks, Roger.  Of the thousands of images that I've taken over the years, this is one of my 5-6 all-time favorites.

Valentina, thanks for the comment.  I've gone back to this place several times, but it has never been as good as it was on this day.

I echo the previous compliments for this, Stephen, this is very beautiful indeed..! I very much like the ethereal feeling the photo conveys. The subdued soft bluish tones are lovely -- The way the dark  pilings are reflected in the water is somewhat reminiscent of calligraphy...

This is simply outstanding. First, for being at that correct time to get the lighting exact; second you had those birds sitting there. Maybe a few more birds could have added a bit more. Overall a very surreal image. Congrats!

I thought maybe the other was my favorite but this one wins the prize in this portfolio by far. An inspiring image that makes me want to go out and take pictures.

It also illustrates what is wrong with the rating system on this website although I really have come to realize that it is, well, garbage for lack of a better term.

Joseph, thanks for stopping by.  I don't participate in the rating system other than to get more exposure for some photographs.  I find a single number meaningless, except to say "I like this photo," or "I sorta like this photo," or "I don't like this photo."  It's too bad that PN has to base much of their organization of the site on ratings, but it's hard to think of another way to do it, I suppose.  I stopped giving ratings many years ago; I think that comments can be far more useful.

Alexander, thanks for the comment.  This was taken years ago, but it's still one of my personal favorites.

Ken, thanks for your comment.  As I've said, this was taken long ago, yet it remains one of my all-time favorites.
