Hello William!

Probably this image has a sentimental value for you, but me, seeing it, doesnt atract me too much, and not necessary cause of your vision, that it's ok, the moment it's fine, but the technical part it's a mess and i tell you this because i know that you can do way better!!! The major thing that it's bother me are the burnt portions of the sky, there you can see some grey spots that has nothing to do with the sky, they are cuz you tried to lower the exposure of the image too much, or maybe wasnt too much, but the burnt places made it too much. Other thing it's regarding the dark side of the photo, that its covering the most part of the image, you could do it more brighter. So, to improve this image, i recommend you to try to make a hdr or to work with layers on it, on portions, but being careful to make it fine and keeping a quite natural look.

So, hoping that you dont mind of me and my comment i wish u all he best and a great day!

Cristina.

Yes it does have special meaning to me as it is my home town and was one of the first photos I took when I got back into photography with a digital camera. I went for a sillohette effect but could have done better and looking at it I really should have done a better crop on it and taken the lamp post out of the bottom. Many thanks for your views would have tried an HDR but this was a scan from a print which did not have enough info in it.
