That's an interesting processing with the ragged edges and all and the early television tones. It all fits together quite well. Of course all of this wouldn't matter if you didn't have a really fine image to work with in the first place. Kind of novel approach, feed the soul and then feed the body but I wonder who is being blessed here with all that fat, the undertaker?

I feel the spirit in my gut here.  What a blessing elastic pants are.

I find this pairing to be quite sad.  The fence, the blistered sign, the motor home and empty parking lot.  The flock has evolved and moved on to richer pastures.

The visual evidence of this corner being blessed is pretty thin. It is however a blessing that you have preserved this spot and shared it with us. I also like the tones and processing. They add to the decomposing, deconstructing atmosphere here. How did you get that edge?

The effect is a result of playing around with Nik software. They have a Polaroid transfer filter and all sorts of toys. I was just having fun.

I assume this is Nik's Silver Efex Pro, and indeed, what fun it is. Great choices here in taking this contemporary scene back in time. I find the degree of sharpness the giveaway: old photos were never this sharp. The combination of Jesus and barbeque...my God, Dave, it's enough to make me momentarily regret leaving California.

Nice to hear from you. I thought you had deserted the Pnet site. Yes, you are missing quite a lot having left California. There's some sort of soul-saving place on about every corner now. But what is really funny is what was smack dab across the street from here.

And, yeah the Nik software is a real kick in the pants.

Ahhh . . . salvation and barbeque across the street from each other.  Another tale of Americana, told by a master storyteller.  I love the treatment.

This image is artistic, poetic and  prophetic. Fast food, fast  richness  and  fast crumbling  moral society, civilization. I like the  image very much, but  not, what we doing now.

I'm surprised that people haven't pointed out what is truly odd about this picture: the juxtaposition of "blessing" and what appears to be hellfire. In my humble experience, religious folks tend to think of those as opposites. Apparently not in Fresno.

But wouldn't it be a blessing if your enemies got a little hellfire? lol

BTW I do not wish to disappoint, but it's not in Fresno.
