No disrespect intended, but until my lens had to get a closer look I

had always assumed that these were animal graves - they're so tiny,

and tucked right under a tree.

 

Ages ago I was waiting for a lift to Thorpe Park and I saw a squirrel

carrying his dead pal across the road. After quite a few attempts he

managed to get over the church wall, he dragged his mate over to these

and run off! Hence, Squirrel Graves.

 

Back story aside, I badly need some off-camera flash bizniz. Luckily,

snow got rid of the harsh shadow usually cast when the pop up flash

hits the lens.
