kiran.rambhatla 0 Posted December 3, 2010 It's really surprising that the water is so still even though the fishes are moving about just a few inches below the surface.Nice capture. Congrats. Link to comment
daniel montero 0 Posted December 3, 2010 Hi. Indeed, Kois are really "domesticated" fishes and swim very slowly. And this is a Japanese garden, not the wild. Cheers Link to comment
stp 6 Posted December 3, 2010 This is an interesting application of "near-far" composition, and I like it very much. Seldom do we see the "near" object that is a freely moving animal(s). On my screen, I scrolled the image up so that the sky was eliminated, and I liked that version as well because the relatively bright sky wasn't pulling my eyes up and out (although I suspect that a black border would accomplish much of that as well, because the sky blends pretty well with the backdrop for the photo). daniel montero 0 Posted December 3, 2010 Dear Stephen. Thank you so much for your point of view. When I was taking this photo, and waiting to have fish in the point I was looking for, I took some preliminary photos with and without sky, because the grey day was not helping to the scene. Finally I decided to took it with sky because I didn't like how the trees were cropped. I used galen Rowell NDG filter to compensate the sky and I decided to present the photo as I tooked, without cropping. Cheers from Canary Islands Link to comment

victorwei 0 Posted December 4, 2010 A dreamlike photo perfectly captured. We do not come across composition like this often. Thanks. Link to comment
victor_montero 0 Posted December 12, 2010 Bellísima estampa. Buen enfoque. Bonito colorido del otoño japonés. Preciosa de luminosidad. Besos, hijo. Link to comment
jrickert 2 Posted January 28, 2011 Very unusual photo. Great composition. I love how everything is in focus so sharply. My favorite part of this photo is the Koi fish. I used to have a Koi fish, that would jump up to eat out of my hand. Link to comment
