johnolsen 0 Posted December 12, 2010 What a great scene! The light on the water is fantastic and helps create a very subdued feel. The color is very realistic and I like the composition very much. I wonder if the foreground was that dark in your mind? Lightening it just a little might improve the image IMHO. Link to comment
mtmixon 0 Posted March 10, 2011 A glorious scene. The light is fantastic, and the framing, giving the sky the dominant position in the photo, is appropriate for a place like this. And what's great about the ray of light is that it calls attention to the man-made object in the scene, even while it is dwarfed by the surrounding nature. Given these strong elements, I would clone out the boat to the right. It doesn't add anything to the photo, and while in shadow, can be a distraction from an otherwise wonderful photo. daverave 1 Posted March 20, 2011 Fantastic light, nicely captured. I didn't notice the boat until I looked at the larger version but it does become a distraction. While you're at it, clone out the bright vehicles in the lower left ;-) There's a bit of some kind of artifacts in the sky above the horizon that may be a result of sharpening or saturating. They don't hurt too much though. I have a couple shots from here on a similar day from a trip a few years ago to SW England. Really enjoyed it. Link to comment
