John Crowe 165 Posted November 27, 2010 It is real! I had to remove some minor flare marks and other than using neutral densiity filters in Adobe Camera Raw, and saturation, colour balance, sharpness and dodge/burning in Photoshop, it is as shot.As you can see from the sunburst the Nikon 8mm f2.8 has amazing flare control, and it is also quite sharp and contrasty.I also cropped out the very thin blue halo around the perimeter that seems typical of all circular fisheye lenses. It means only losing a few pixels around the edge. Light also reflects onto the sensor outside the image area so I also place the circular image onto a black or white background depending on the subject. Link to comment
AlanKlein 2,904 Posted November 27, 2010 I'm not a fan of fisheye lens shots but this one works. What really would have been neat if you caught some snow falling down. The it would have looked like one of those glass balls that you shake up to get a winter scene. Nice shot. Alan. Link to comment
