Nice work PJ,beautifully framed, the addition of the dog is a nice extra,i met those dogs many times in the Pyrenees and they always sleep outside,a very hardy breed it seems, regards,Harry

A beautiful shot! All components and composition are well selected and crafted, but i would suggest slight lowering of light specially in bright part, and deepen shadows to give more contrast. Its already a very good capture, as it is. Complements.

Hamid.

Thanks Pierre, Harry and Hamid for the welcome comments. Hamid, I see the advantage, as you show so well in your reworking of the image, of changing the light to give greater contrast. It is, indeed, an improvement. Harry, I'm not sure what breed of dog it is, but he was certainly in his element in the snow. I forgot to get him to sign a model release, so I hope he doesn't mind my sneak candid of him.

Hi PJ,i am not a dog expert but from informatiion a gathered from my treks is a Pyrennean Shepperd dog, descendant of the dogs the Romans brought to Spain from Greece, the Greek Shepperd dog (Pimenikos) is also related to the Anatolian Shepperd from what is now Turkey. The ancient Greeks used these dogs in battle (clad in armour) in front of the Phalanx.the skeleton of one still survives in the Natural History Museum in London, regards,Harry
