The Waif

Obviously manipulated. Intention is give a more dramatic lighting feel

to the image and an enhancement to the disheveled look I was going

for. Your comments on my success or failure are welcome.

It is a charitable season and I have been known to take in waifs and strays. A lovely image of a lovely lady.

I think this is rather beautiful. I love the contrast of blue eyes against reddishness of the rest of the composition. The eyes really stand out and draw in the attention of the viewer. As for manipulation, it hardly matters whether you have or not when the result is good. The face is perhaps a little softer than the rest and I'd have preferred a little less manipulation, however, this was not a flaw, just an observation. I think the softness on the face makes the eyes stand out even more. My only suggestion would be to turn this into a portrait or implied nude rather than full blown.

ooh .. I missed this one earlier .. a wonderfully charming portrait .. it's all in the eyes, really beautiful, bravo. I regret having seen the lighter version added later. I think I prefer the original or something close to it. Though some clarity can improve a photo sometimes, I feel it does take some of the mystery away here ..
