you have rather wonderful light to play with here... the light illuminating his eyes and forehead give him a tearful and nostalgic demeanor, angst over the loss of what was and now may never be... the upload is a dramatised composition which may serve to suggest other processing alternatives to you... i've used the adjustment brush in LR to accentuate the features of the gentleman, i've also increased overall brightness, reduced contrast ( to not allow the backdrop to be as accentuated as the figure), and i've tweaked the tone curve (0,+5,-5,+1)
