robert_premkumar 1 Posted November 24, 2010 Turner, Beautiful shot. Lighting and the second dog's expression are very nice. Regards. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted November 24, 2010 There is a lot of character in this image. The head of the front dog seems a little soft or possibly out of focus. (Maybe it is movement.) I would have liked to see a little space below the paw at the edge of the frame.Good stuff! Link to comment
Art X Photography 1 Posted November 24, 2010 the composition here is brilliant. the editing style equally matched. the monochromatic effect gives this a grunge feel which i really like. my compliments Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted November 25, 2010 Chuck, I'm not one to pass by anything dog. I like the mono effect, and how you caught the one in the back staring. Interesting details of the background - where are they? Great moment; I'm glad you got it. Link to comment
color 3 Posted November 25, 2010 Thanks for your comments. These old dogs belong to a friend of mine in Georgia. They are at the back door. They didn't come out for some reason, just turned around and went back into the house. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted November 26, 2010 Every once in a while I stop by the trp pages on the long shot that somewhere amongst the hdr landscapes butterflies, birds catching fish, draganized old people etc. there might be an image that speaks to me.This morning my reward was this lovely heartfelt image and an introduction to what looks to be a wonderful body of unique and skillfully executed photographic work in your PN portfolio.I like the dogs eye perspective you used, with the rear pooch staring straight into my eyes. The moment which you caught , with the one dog softened by motion and the other dog sharp, sets up a nice dynamic with the motion adding life to the shot. The toning works well and compliments the aged and stained appearance of the background. I like the transition from dark to light as I read across the frame. The overall tonality is rich and complex. Beyond those considerations , some of my best friends are dogs so I can relate to these guys and this moment with ease. I have marked you portfolio and will return often to enjoy the further treasure within. cheersGord Link to comment
bentes_world 0 Posted November 26, 2010 This dog photo has something that catches the eyes. It's hard to define but I gues it's the different looks of the dogs, both the dogs' attitudes, the composition and the background. A very unusual dog photo and a very unusual good one too. Link to comment
