this shot was "reworked" by the Gallery owner who did my exhibit this

past summer.

 

any comments on which is better or worse and why. he tried to capture

more of the steamy foggy cold effect whereas my limited PhotoShop

skills just removed the blue tinge and upped the curves a bit.

 

the original shot is in my Canada Geese folder beside this one.

This does have impact but I think I prefer the original.  The original makes more sense.  Why would only the heads of the geese be excluded from the fog?  Would it be natural to have a very selective fog that kept the heads clear while dimming their bodies?  The original is more honest.  That being said, they are both beautiful.  Nice work.

It's what you want to show and what your feeling with the image is. This one shows more of the fog and is more softer from tone. It shows the hardnes and the cold the geese are in. The other (original) image is because of the higher contrast a more graphic image. For me I like the softer one more. But both show a great image.  Hope this a litle of use for you. Regards.
