Marina...  A wonderful series of storm shots, but this is my favorite so far.  The gigantic breakers are spectacular, but the explosive wave surrounding the lighthouse is awe inspiring.  I can only imagine what it would be like to be in the lighthouse!  Excellent timing, detail and b/w treatment.  The birds flying into and braving the storm is just dessert to an otherwise perfect capture.  Thanks for sharing... Mike

Impresionante de nuevo Marina...el detalle de las aves escapando ante semejante "estallido"..... genial.

Felicidades por todo tu enorme trabajo.

Salud y Luz !

Incredible power of waves. Excellent photograph. How tall is the lighthouse? I see the photo was taken near Cantabria.

Which lighthouse is this? I would love to visit this place. Thank you and best regards, John.

An impress shot of natures power, the light house really gets everything into perspective. I wonder that its still standing. I have the the feeling the exsposure lacks a little something. Its a fantist scene but the light colour and contrast could be better somehow.

I'm pretty speechless... You must be a great fan of Jean Guichard, right? However, Théodore Malgorne (the famous lighthouse keeper who was captured by Guichard "in action") is missing here... ;-) No, I'm kidding. Absolutely stunning, extraordinary work. Leave it in b&w IMO, it is an "extraterrestrial" compo and moment. The lighthouse in the centre works excellently as well. 7. BR / Volker

I will go along with Mr. Wakefield's above comment. In addition, the centered lighthouse reduces the intensity of the storm and makes the image static; a better solution would have been to crop the right one-quarter of the image away. Regards.

Well, I went through the whole folder of your pictures on this and in terms of raw energy this is one of the best. I still think it would be quite a different feeling in color however.

Really like the impact of the water on the lighthouse.

Could be maybe a little bit more dramatic in the contrasts!

Thanks to you all for the great feedback. With regards to the color version, the atmosphere was grey, just a wash blue without interest.

Thanks for the suggestion about the crop. It works better without the centered lighthouse, but I think the direction of the waves needs some space.

The lighthouse light has 38.7 meters over the sea level. The tower 18,39 meters.
