Blue Heron, Hurley Park

Lannie: Now that's a blue heron, nicely captured, the soft colors and the shimmer of the water help make the photo.  I might have cropped out the far shore, but I have to say the image is very original. Tom

Thanks, Tom, but I wanted a bit of context here--plus cropping out the top would have put the heron a bit high in the frame, and I did not have a good enough file to crop too much off the bottom to compensate.  I also wanted that spot of blue on the right bottom.

In truth, though, I couldn't find the optimal composition with this lens.  A longer lens would have worked better with the bird.
