This is a masterful portrait - a lively composition with expressive eyes. The selected background is really revealing for the figure. The sharpness of the portrait is just as required. Should we think of cropping a little bit from the bottom ( considering the tight crop at the top ) ? Personally I would like a little warmer tone to enhance the expressive mood. A very good presentation from a master photographer. Best regards.

A nice portrait that reveals the personality of the man. Yes, perhaps a crop from the bottom makes it look more focussed. Thanks for sharing.

Perfect eye contact in this portrait Iftikhar, and well written facial details....

His unforced expression is marvelous...

Also nicely written natural skin tones...

Wow, you better not be late with your rent, he looks pretty serious. Dark bg really separates portrait well.  Nice skin tones and placement in frame.

Ifti, this portrait becomes more rewarding with time.  I have the impression that Jagirdar is being reflective, not looking directly into the lens. Something is on his mind. This impression may come from the way the catch lights are positioned.

Im happy to see new post from you, so powerful and naturally rendered portrait shot. Light is diffusely balanced with soft tones and nice composition. Bravo.

Hamid.

I've always felt that the 135mm lens, used for portraiture, or for that matter other subject material, has historically been given a bum rap.  This portrait speaks volumes in it's defense.  Now, coupled to a 1.5 sensor it behaves more like a 200mm on a full frame so my argument loses some steam but the 135 was one of the first two lenses I purchased for my Minolta XG-M almost 30 years ago and many of my favourite images have been taken with it.  Not a deal breaker but perhaps a tad more room at the top would give less of a confined feeling. In lieu of a crop at the bottom perhaps some judicious toning down of the garment and\or some vignetting applied would help to minimize this brighter area's possibly distracting effect, thereby placing more emphasis on your subject's face, the most important element.  The lighting is soft & flat but since he has many sharp contrasty features (beard, glasses, hair) it works well.  Wouldn't want to overdo things with contrasty lighting.  Bottom line:  a fine portrait image.  Do you think he would accept it in lieu of next month's rent?  Best, LM.

Masha Alah, one superb portrait work with very highly skilled lighting and powerful details, the skin tone is very original and the eye contact with the viewer is remarkably there.

Thank you my friend for sharing it and wising you all of the best.
