Beautiful shot with great tones. The slight darkening of the water midway in the center and on the right is all you need to give this image depth. Nicely done.

well done.  I can't decide if it should have been more straight-on to enhance the difference in distance and therefore fogginess, or more at an angle to make the boat at the back more visible.  must be right as it is.  best, jamie

Outstanding! Wonderfully soft and peaceful. I like the light, the reflections, the subtle ripples in the water, the misty fog and the contrast. It is a lovely well balanced composition.

Has to be seen large.
Very nice soft and peaceful .I like the diagonal way the boats are tied up vs, the horizontal foggy line with the houses on the other side of shore. The water are looking silver, mirroring  the reflection and  details of the boats, and "painting as well a form of their own...;-))

Bulent… in answering Jack’s comment in the previous picture you called yourself an ‘amateur’, and as I sense I know a bit about you, you were just stating the fact without a trace of modesty or irony. Yes, we are a community of amateur artists, but every once in awhile we’re capable of creating a piece that stands far taller than the majority of what we usually produce and what an amazing feeling when that happens, how the surprise of what we accomplished instructs the spirit, or whatever place this stuff comes from, toward a higher standard for what’s to come next...
IMO this is such a picture, one you could call without reservation a professional picture composed and technically produced with wonderful finesse and sensibility. Indeed an image for all seasons.

I can't add much to this discussion other than to say I think it is a very well done image of classic subject material.  I especially like the way you've placed the foreground boats on the diagonal and the fact that the other boats, just hinted at through the fog,  provide an element of context.  The calm water and soft lighting provide beautiful reflections with a fine tonal range.  I'd have to see Jack's suggestion implemented before agreeing with him.  A lot would depend on the degree of manipulation done and how transparent it was.  Best, LM.

Many thanks to you all for your visits and rewarding comments. This is indeed one of my recent photos which I am satisfied with.

Jack,
I had indeed darkened the part you mentioned a bit for the very reason you pointed out. The original of the part is lighter.

Electric Picture,
I am happy that you liked this :)

Linda,
You just spoil me :))

Mehmet Bey,
Cok tesekkur ediyorum. Selamlar,

Andrej,

Thank you :)

Pnina,
Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful comment. The scene was indeed peaceful and calm. This is, by the way, where me and my wife are intending to spend our later years...

Valentyn,
I am pleased that you liked this.

Carlos,
PN has been a school for me now for more than 5 years. I have friends and masters here. I learn a bit from each of them. I look at some photos in almost a mesmerized state for long, repeated periods. I try to understand how some members achieve a "style" that can even be spotted while looking at a stamp sized image. I understand that it requires, among other things, a long journey.  Now, I take great pleasure in experiencing each and every step of my own journey; I do not really care, any longer, where am I going. The journey itself, paved by an occasional fine image and a friendly pat on my back, is what makes me happier.  Thank you...

Len,
I am pleased by your visit and comment. Your stress on the "degree of manipulation" is very important. With the plethora of software tools available, it is very easy to overdo any operation. I try to be cautious in this regard and strive for a relatively natural look. Here, the most significant operation I've done was exactly what Jack mentioned. I guess, it might have to be more prominent especially when I intend to print this.
