Happiness!  I particularly like the youth with his fingers in his ears.  There's always a critic in every crowd, as they say.

I love this!  The leaves up top are sheltering, festive !  The garb -- customs and lifestyles --       instead of alienating becomes a non-issue;  the human joy with family and friends stands out.  My attention goes to the woman in the center because of her pose -- arm out beckoning.   woman holding her child on the right; she's shlumpy but charmingly homey; you got an inside view of this community

Very good idea, well composed. I took a liberty to extract a surplus of bluish colour..Best regards, vf

This picture has a great deal of appeal to me. Part of the reason, I think is that so many of the individuals and small groups pictured seem almost iconic, their attitudes are so classical, especially the women holding children. The pair on the far right could have stepped right out of a Renaissance painting, Madonna and Child.. The lighting and coloring fits the mood very well, I think

Alberto thanks again.

Jeff thanks, he  closed his ears as the noise ( loud  music and the microphone) were too much for him.........

Donna, thanks, the whole event was a very unusual/ interesting experience for me.The amount of mothers with /and children was overwhelming  ( and it was only one neighborhood in Jerusalem)It was very joyful and I think this series transfers my impressions. I'm glad you have connected to this one.

Vladimir, thanks for taking the time and stopping by. It is a possibility as  well, but I think that the light on my version was the right one;--))

Jack, "The pair on the far right could have stepped right out of a Renaissance painting, Madonna and Child.. " is a very interesting impression! I did not think of the Renaissance  but how many of them could be painted . The whole event have had some painterly feeling. Stay tuned I have some more...Thanks a lot!

I symphatize with the central figure, the boy with his fingers in his ears! In addition to the above comments (family gathering, painting likeness, iconic looks...) I hear noises in here! I am happy that I can look at and examine your beautiful composition in my room, hearing nothing but my computer ;)

A charming and appealing composition.  The three women holding the children are nicely balanced throughout the scene and the boy in the middle holding its fingers to its ears adds a whimsical touch.  I love the light in this shot and in some way it resembles a painting where each character is its own world.

A lovely image that could be translated over many centuries....different dress of course, but the celebration of getting together, mothers and children.... a sense of community. I love the soft appeal and darker hues.  Lovely!

The light and composition raise the common place to the extraordinary.  I agree with the comments regarding Flemish painters. I think Vladimir's colour corrected version is a significant improvement . Removing the unnatural blue cast warms the scene and makes it feel more genuine.

When I originally opened the image the first though which came to mind was 'where are all the men?'   I  also note that almost all of the children are looking in the same direction and none of the mothers are looking the same way.

Valentyn, Thanks for your  nice comment.

Bulent, what a nice impression, thanks, you are lucky to see it only... as the noise of music and microphones were  deafening...;-))

Adan,  Thanks  for your impression sand support. I think your voyage is very close! I hope it will be safe and enjoyable.

Gail, thanks as well, I'm glad it was appealing to you.

Florin thanks as well for all of them.

Amal, "Flemish paintings", that is a very nice compliments. Thank you very much..

Gord, thanks for your extensive comment, I think that Vladimir's version is a possibility, but the blue (in the window especially) was some  cold contrast to the mothers/children warm colors around. It fitted my feelings.

In this community, Gord, especially in event like that ,women (and their small children) were separated from the men.....

The different direction they look is probably because the mothers/children were busy with different action in the great square.
( good for composition....;-))
