Pierre Dumas 285 Posted November 17, 2010 Richness of elements and B&W tones, old looking, reminds of some older novels or was it movies, must be movies! Bravo Deb!PDE Link to comment
deb1 0 Posted November 17, 2010 Thanks so much! I was worried I wasn't going to be able to capture this bridge in any kind of artful way as the bridge was closed and I sure wasn't going to venture beyond the "closed" sign and see if those wooden planks would hold a full figured girl such as myself. Then as I looked through the viewfinder to compose this image, I LOVED what I saw. It would seem the overgrown-ness of the surrounding trees and such actually added a special element to the image. I'm so happy you saw something special in it as well. deb Link to comment
clemsonguy 0 Posted November 17, 2010 Yes, quite lovely. Love the contrasting tones and the setting. The only thing that seems odd are the trees on the left which seem almost ghostly-white. I might try and play with the BW sliders in PS to see if something else can be made of them. My point being that the way they are now, it appears that the leaves and trunk of the tree are the same "color" that is being compensated for in a BW conversion. Maybe that is the case, but just appears odd in this beautiful composition. Nice job. Link to comment
clemsonguy 0 Posted November 17, 2010 I saw the color version and played with it a bit. I ended up doing two different BW conversions for each side. This is what I meant. Link to comment
deb1 0 Posted November 17, 2010 Yes, I see what you mean! I was going for a haunting image as this bridge is abandoned and such. But I see where your version does give a bit more depth to the leaves. Thank you so much for your help with this! deb Link to comment
