tonyfrench 0 Posted January 21, 2011 Len, I really like the continual movement between the hand on the table and his face and the other man's face. The tight framing adds a nice sense of tension to the calm, intensity of the game. It's also a great piece of research in terms of the clothing. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted January 21, 2011 Good of you to drop by & comment. This interaction is why I post. I think the tight crop, dictated by the fixed 75mm lens on my Minolta Autocord and the tight spot I was in for this shot, was necessary to keep all the action possible in the frame. If it has no other value, I agree that it has some merit for anyone researching men's fashions, circa 1960. I think every guy had a Perry Como sweater like the guy in the background. The shiny black leather shoes and the neatly pressed pants were a product of the military environment. Wouldn't want to get caught with a locker full of wrinkled clothes lest one find oneself confined to quarters on payday. :-) Best, LM. Link to comment
maria 7 Posted January 23, 2014 great topic, my father took two such of me when I was a child, unfortunately they are not done by me. One of them was my FB title image last week. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted January 23, 2014 I find a lot of shots by others on PN remind me of a time gone by. I guess we all have had some similar experiences. So you were playing cards with a bunch of soldiers were you. :-) Just kidding. Thanks for your visit. Best, LM. Link to comment
