timzeipekis 5 Posted November 15, 2010 This stand of trees along the shores of Lake Erie seem to take on a personality and hierarchy. Guardians of the shores. Love to hear your thoughts! Link to comment
celasun 0 Posted November 15, 2010 All the trees seem to form a single organism. They look huge and even intimidating. Photographically, there is a sense of completeness, which can be difficult to achieve at open fields. Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted November 15, 2010 I agree. Getting low, I was able to eliminate a lot of the unimportant elements in the background as well as create an overbearing/intimidating feeling from the trees. Link to comment
alfbailey 1 Posted November 16, 2010 I get the impression of a familly gathering, the tallest tree being the father figure, and the family in various gestures of body language, communicating thier opinions and thoughts. I like it.Best RegardsAlf Link to comment

karolostrivizas 0 Posted November 16, 2010 The view point Tim and the symmetric composition create a nice effect....but IMHO the strongest points are the perfectly written details and the rich gray tonal range........my congrats....7.. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted November 16, 2010 It was interesting to see the comments here. The reason I was attracted to this was for the reason outlined in Bulent's comment. The trees 'seem' to become a single organism. What I really thought was that our brains become joined forming a network of understanding. Link to comment

whydangle 0 Posted November 17, 2010 Man, Tim, you really shine when the weather goes south, as it were! It shows, how much you love the time of year that so many dread. Well, that's good for you and not so good for them. This is smacking of artistic qualities. My only minor poke is the upward curve distortion, but because it is so good, I find it almost supports the theme in some way. Very elegant image Tim! Link to comment
melloncollie 0 Posted November 17, 2010 so nice and clean, very artistic approach. outstanding photo. Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted November 17, 2010 Thanks again everyone!Mark, you nailed it exactly. There is just something about this time of year that I really am drawn to. Perhaps the colder weather sends more people inside and leaves the landscape a bit more peaceful, quiet and undisturbed. I feel more relaxed and I'm glad it comes through in my photography. As for the curve, I considered fixing it, but felt it wasn't enough of an issue to do so. If anything, I think it helps the upward visual motion of the trees. Thanks Link to comment
deb1 0 Posted December 3, 2010 Love the image and the title is perfect as that is the exact thought that was in my mind as I opened the image to view. Great perspective and the black and white treatment is excellent. deb Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted January 3, 2011 You've capitalized on the skeletal outline of the bare trees. Minimalistic, almost calligraphic. Chilly. Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted January 22, 2011 doesn't take much to make a great photo as long as one is able to see what's in front of him. Love it, Tim Link to comment
