An impressive picture, David (there's that word, again). A beautifully composed picture that harks back to earlier times and simpler points of view. As caustic as some of your pictures can be, especially when they tackle the kind of hypocrisy we often see today, your basic sentiment and appreciative nature is evident in this lovely image.

It looks to be a sentry post to guard a fenced and lonely grave.

Between the subject and the processing I get a wave of nostalgia tinged with a sense of mortality. Sadness and futility mixed up with honour and stoicism in a complex blend of emotions.
