Images like this are the reason that dancers can be very good models for nude photographs. Your lighting and the cast shadows are incredible. I love all the shapes created especially when the shadows intersect. Very well made, Niki!

Niki, this a seven picture! Wonderful pose and lighting and of course body (the face isn't just visible)! Cheers my friend!

I'd agree with Mark on dancers being excellent nude models, and I also like both the pose and the lighting a lot, however the latter sans the harsh shadows.  I'm sure they are there intentionally, but I'm finding them distracting: the picture becomes too busy and chaotic.

The play of shapes created by the model and shadows is absolutely incredible. A true piece of art, not just a picture.

Niki. Really wonderful play of light and shadow throughout. The composition works very well with the strong arc of light at the bottom and the contrast of light and dark on the dancer's torso.

Wonderful shot. Very good light management. I couldn’t like the dark shadows. They are combating with the beautiful dancer herself. The right side of the background is also too dark for this beautiful composition… 6.. Best regards.

Normally the sharp shadows would be distracting, but in this case I believe that they really become an element of the image. I wish there were just a hair more fill her to open her shadows.

Again I like this chiaro scuro effect Niki, emphasazing outlines of the dancer. Well done for an image with impact! Best regards.

I don't know "chiaro scuro" from "chiaroscuro"but I always thought that it was a single word.  I know it has to do with the contrast of black and white (at least originally) and black and white is the stuff of the history of photography.  What I like about this is the back light silhouette effect on the dancer.  What I dislike is the tell-tale give away that multiple light sources are misused to cast overlapping shadows. Much better would have been a single light to cast a single shadow and that modified with gentle fill lights to soften the shadows.

I understand Jerry's point above, a very astute observation. I'm not sure whether I like the interplay of shadows or not, I am trying without success to imagine it without one or the other. If the author did it thus, we can only assume it was intentional. An interesting image neverthless which retained my attention for a long moment, bravo.

For me, the shadows kind of give the image a Richard Avedon look (minus the snakes or mice of course). The image has a very "60's" feel to it.

Diagonal dynamic angular shades and rich shadows created strong sense of movement and tension, which in this scene is very apt and suitable. I like it very much. Bravo.

I always liked well the photos of ballerina, this one is particularly made a success and graphic. The pose is very original. Well done Niki. Kind regards, Frédéric.
