There were some comments on the previous image in this series

regarding the model looking out the window. Here is that version. I do

like the other one a little bit better personally as I think the head

is a little stiff here. Also, the sharpness is not exactly what I was

looking for. Your thoughts and opinions are welcome.

Thanks for looking.

I like the casual nature of this nude image. Her expression and pose look so comfortable, like you just dropped in and found her in the chair like this. Although I've seen plenty of nude models posing in shoes, to me they seem out of place here. I do like this in B&W and with the natural light. Well made, Clemson!

The title:  "The One Looking Out the Window"  Let's search for the essence of meaning in that title.

It seems obvious that the word "the" is not realy doing anything so let's temporarily throw it away, leaving "One Looking Out the Window."

It does occur to me that only one person is in this picture so "One" is not really necessary.  That leaves us "Looking Out the Window."

Well with those drapes and the light coming from them the window is quite obvious so let's throw out everything but "Looking Out."  Now we have a problem. The window seems to have a block in the drape.  How can she look out the window thru the drapes?  Maybe the essence of this picture is the single verb "Looking."

Let's find that essence in the image.  She is looking to our left, at or thru the window so that pathway is important - maybe the most important pathway of action in the picture.  How about we crop to emphasize it?  Let's get rid of all that dark stuff to the right of her head and down in the corner while we are at it.  Let's crop those legs but leave the pathway of vision and let's not crop any fingers while we are at it.

I present to you my crop of your picture, and hopefully the words above tell you how I arrived at that.  Of course I cannot know what is in your mind and maybe my crop violates some idea I did not know about.  At least I demonstrated how I go about cropping the final composition of my pictures.  I hope it is at least slightly interesting to you.

Regards,

Jerry

P.S. You should be aware that you have a "split profile" in the picture which some strict purists want us to eliminate. They are the interference of the nose line with the cheek line and the usual partial blocking of the far eye.  I try very hard to avoid them but slip up about once in a hundred portraits.

@Jerry - Thank you for letting me into your thought process. Although the title just had to do with people wanting to see a version with her head turned, it was informative to see your thought process. Yes, I do like your crop as well, but I like the angle of her legs and the wider view of the female form in mine.

As for the split profile, I was vaguely aware of that. Now that you mention it, it jumps out at me, and it is something that I will keep an eye. Thanks again for taking the time to make such a detailed comment.
