Do you view this as an interesting street scene, a child exploitation

scene that is better left undocumented or......?

hi Gunga-Jim... i hate to have to classify this ... but i would say documentary. perhaps because it is dealing with child labor? its disturbing to me. she should be playing, laughing. unaware of this grown-up lifestyle. she is beautiful and you have captured that... samme

It's a difficult one to call, on the face of things it's totally unacceptable, as the use of any child for commercial gain is. But could it be that this child would have an even worse lifestyle without the earnings from her agent, could it be that she would enrolled in some sweat shop environment and not even see daylight. As Samme indicates above by rights she should be playing and laughing, and enjoying the precious time of her childhood, but in reality she could also be hungry and without shelter if it wasn't for her particular talent.

Your image begs a million and one questions Gunga-Jim, a most thought provoking photograph.

Very well documented.

Best Regards

Alf

Thanks for the comments guys. I think the agent was actually her father so the money is presumably supporting the family. When you stop and think about it, there is an element of this in all performing families be they circus act families, dancing families or singing families (Jacksons etc.). And then there are child beauty pageants but I won't go there. GJ
