guillelobera 0 Posted November 3, 2010 The House of the Blackheads (Melngalvju Nams) is a building situated in the old town of Riga. The original building was erected during the first third of the 14th century for the Brotherhood of the Blackheads Guild, a guild for unmarried German merchants in Riga. Major works were done in the years 1580 and 1886, adding most of the ornamentations. The structure was bombed to a ruin by the Germans June 28, 1941 and the remains demolished by the Soviets in 1948. The current reconstruction was erected from 1995 to 1999. Link to comment
simon_hickie1 0 Posted November 3, 2010 Composition here is generally good, although I'd like a touch more on the base. The colour is great! It looks a fraction underexposed in the shadows, but should be easy to put in a bit more shadow detail in post processing - and you don't want to blow the highlights either. Overall, a very nice capture. Link to comment
marek_m3 0 Posted November 3, 2010 Original orange-red color of bricks is much more splendid. Here are colors too much exaggerated (saturation ? ). Link to comment
