Just working on simple portraits. Your thoughts are welcome.

A very charming model who was a pleasure to work with.

Your image would be simpler without the pictures on the wall.  The plain color there is very supportive of skin tones.  Your choice of where to cut the lower limits does not work very well.  It is usually a mistake to cut just below the knee and here her thigh shows a tiny sliver of the other leg.  Perhaps cropping so that only the black skirt is showing would help.  You have cut off just a bit of her right elbow and cut off her other hand.  It is not wrong to not show the appendages but showing part of them can be a problem.

May I suggest that with your next image like this start so far back (or zoomed) to show the entire model.  Then take a series slowly cropping more and more until you finally have just a facial portrait.  Then study the series and see which works best for your desired image.

Jerry may be correct in that the background pictures usually are distracting at best.  But in this photo, the black and white plaid bodice, seems to go well with the black and white photos in the background.  Besides, it takes a while to get past those blue eyes!  Casual can be more realistic.

Obviously she's both gorgeous and relaxed, as well as photogenic. I think you'd be better off without the pictures on the wall, but it's not a major problem. I like knees :) I do find the cut-off left hand to be a problem.
