An interesting scenic shot!

Is enough of her rowboat visible to convey that she is floating on water in

the canal?

Splendid photo. Good composition and nice color.

I like this but if it is intended to show her floating in her boat then I feel she does need a little more of the bottom of the shot showing. However the shot stands up perfectly well in its own right - so it's up to you - I might just change the title to "Fruit Market" and location. I might also try and tone down the background a bit.

First, absolutely great shot. Colors, geometry of the fruit shapes and of course the woman's face makes it a great composition. To your question, I would not have known she was in a boat if you hadn't mentioned it.
