This was from my first batch of shots using my new lights. Just

playing around and seeing what comes out. Any way, I was wondering

if the DOF here works. I aligned it with background, so that the ear

and anything past it would blur out a bit and the focus would be on

the subject's face. But I'm not sure if it works. I'm sort of

wondering if I needed to open up another stop or to maybe even go the

other way. Blur the background a bit and sharpen everything else.

 

Any opinions?

Doesn't work for me. I'd prefer the whole image to be sharp. The biggest probelm for me is the out of focus pattern on her dress.

if she was highlighted from the direction she is looking, i think it would have brought the photo to life....with the flash from the camera, it flattened her chin and shoulder...beautiful girl though...
