The first day of October was a warm sunny reminder of summer. The

leaves were still happy to adorn the trees along the backroads. While

enjoying an afternoon drive with my parents, we found this 'Sugar

Shack'. The owner soon came by on his motorcycle, but was very nice,

telling us some very interesting stories about his 'little shack'. The sap

runs well at this location, but in the Spring of course. A wonderful

diversion while enjoying the scents of early Fall, and stopping to collect

my Bull Rushes and Pods for my 'Harvest Display' in front of our Home.

(thanks for viewing, Gail)

Hi Gail!

You and Tony Hadley have been producing images that take me back to my youth in Vermont and frequent visits to Canada.

My family had a 300 year-old barn that they converted to a house/camp where I spent many wonderful times.  When I first was there, around 1948, the old farmhouse had just collapsed and the small sugar-house was about to.  I especially remember swimming and fishing in the brook that ran through the property... brrrr.  The native brook-trout were delicious!

Thank you for taking me back to those times.

Actually thank you!!! When Sass Jorden was playing there, I imagine the stage was just before that beautiful spot you took your lovely walk on Bill. Thanks so much for finding a place I know I'll enjoy visiting in the future, perhaps near future.  It may be quite unique in the winter also.  Your kind words of critique are also appreciated...Sincerely, Gail

Gail, you've captured the essence of autumn in the woods.  The colors are great.  The path leads one into the image.  Nice job - Thanks for sharing!

So very glad you like my little 'sugar shack' Alberto!  these trees will probably be stripped from most of their leaves by now.  We had a very bad wind storm this week.  Thank you so much for your visit and support.  Sincerely, Gail
