Good timing and perspective!

Besides the very obvious qualities of this photo I'd like to focus on something that may sound academic, but believe me, these words are meant for personal education as much for comment.

Let's presume I had taken this photo as one of a set otherwise quite similar, only the clothing being different. You must know I'm discerning when it comes to outfit, their design and colors, and have good reason to let people just pass my frame in hope a more suitable person(s) would appear...

What I want to say is that I very much appreciate how that lady in all white happen to closer to Sun, being in front of the shadows. The dark trousers of the other lady merges better to the shadows that appear beneath her. Further her dark-light-dark figure acts a kinda pointer towards the corner of shadow area above them. Just try to swap their order in your mind...

Being such minimalistic photo some tiny details are valuable here too:just look how the narrow triangle points and touches exactly the dark shoulderbag. Then we have those four seams along the right edge of the photo included as pointers downwards. Without them that part would appear too flat.

I think this is beautifully composed, the geometric values in the light, shadow and tones and the positioning in relation of the two ladies make this particularly striking in B/W. Nice work Gunnar :)
