Lovely flowers and lovely model. I am not sure which is supposed to catch my attention. The model is beautiful and obviously topless and is contributing a great pose, but she is washed out. This seems unintentional. The flowers, don't grab my attention as they are in the bottom right of the whole image. Hopefully that is helpful criticism.

Herman,

She is a pretty girl and looks like she has a very nice shape. She has a nice expression and very good eye contact with the camera (viewer). The background is nicely out of focus and she is somewhat separated from it. Her unlit hair is really blending into the trunk of the tree. This portrait, as is, has some problems. Her eyes are not in critical focus. The large flowers and their bright color takes attention away from the girl.

The lighting would be better coming from above her rather than in from the side. She has a strange looking shadow at the top of the bridge of her nose. Her nose is lit separately from the rest of her face and sticks out. She has a large reflection on the white of her left eye and no catchlights to give life to her eyes. The placement of her hands seems a bit contrived -- not very natural. The highlight on her left cheek is too hot. Clipping can often occur in image highlights as a result of an incorrect exposure. A similar effect of blown-out highlights also exists in analog photography.

If this is going to be picture of flowers, with a nude as an accessory in the background, you should move in closer to the flowers. Make them more dominant in the photograph and allow the girl to go farther out of focus in the background. I actually think this could make a very nice photograph.

It this is going to be a portrait of the girl, have the flowers take up much less space. Keep the flowers in focus because you usually don't want anything in the foreground to be out of focus. Don't have the sun light their petals. The bright orange will distract from the girl. Those flowers are so large you might want to position them so that you can crop into them. This would make them appear less dominant.

I have provided a cropped black and white version to show how the girl will appear more dominant if the flowers take up less space and are not a bright orange. I have change the position of the girl to try to get better compositional balance.

Nice shot,

Mark
