This is great object  to photograph. The surface of split wood could be sharper showing its details and texture.  Regards, ifti.

Strong choice of subject and an inviting composition.

However, I agree with the other critique, this photo would benefit from more sharpness throughout. Due to the very selective depth of field now, it seems a very unfocussed photo (in the sense that the composition has no focus). The strong lines in the composition imply a motion and direction, but it draws the eyes to the least in-focus point of the photo, which is slightly confusing (to me). It makes the eye seek all the time in the frame, which does make it a more distracting photo to look at than it needs to be.
