Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted October 31, 2010 Interesting image. Are these colors authentic or created in Photoshop? The actual red in the mountains looks a little off to me. That said, I really like the image. I'm debating about whether the image would benefit from some foreground cropping. It depends what you are trying to achieve and how you mean this image to communicate. Certainly the folds in the foreground, mountains, and sky have an interesting impact. Yet, if you want to feature the mountains more then cropping would help. Why not try to make a few different images with this and see what works best. We'd love to go to New Zealand. Link to comment
new_zealand_landscapes 0 Posted November 1, 2010 Good idea I Have a different version with the mountains lower.I thought the abstraction was interesting. As for the colours I had to tone them down a bit. Colours are very strong here, might be a lack of Ozone? The other thought is that this is artificial anyway, as a 2D digital camera made the image, see through 3d natural eyes. After spending many years learning about postproduction and managment I am not sure what is real anymore.Look at Ansel and his extra contrasty over dodged work. Link to comment
isako 0 Posted November 2, 2010 hi John,Real or not, the colours are stunning. I've seen skies that red quite often in the summer in the South of France. The only thing that bothers me is the frustration of not having enough on the sides... shot seems to be cropped too much. But this of course is just my impression.Warm regards,Isabelle Link to comment
