the thick carpet of leaves suggests we are amongst trees even though we can see none of them... the child has good light on his face as he glkances back - is that amusement on his face, i wonder! ...i have no quibble with chopping off the adult's head but would have wished for retention of the other child's left arm... i quite like it, particularly in black and white

Rajat,

Thank you for your comment.  I see what you mean about the other child's arm.  Kind of throws it off balance.  My reasoning was to have the main subject be the boy looking at me... so therefore make the other two incomplete.  But that probably was not necsssary.

The adult had the upper section cut off because her face was "blown out" by the sun.  I couldn't figure out how to darken her face without also darkening the whole photo.....I guess it can be done with some software.

Thanks again, John

i use Lightroom (Adobe) and that has a local adjustment brush which i find a very nifty tool for localised adjustments... as a viewer my eye was immediately drawn to the kid looking back - he is definitely the 'star' here... i in fact i like the adult's head being outside the frame, makes for a more pleasing composition

Thanks again for your helpful comment and the Lightroom information.  I've heard of it and will check it out.  Regards, John
