to get a good b&w, a photo must have a pure white and black. a little bit adjustment on the exposure, +2 would made this photo excellent. but i understand that if you expose it a little bit more, the clouds will be washed out. If you use a filter would be helpful for this kind of scene.

your composition is fantastic, there's a near object which is the tree that makes your background looks very far, mountains.

your near object also makes your photo create a depth.
