Ciao, Maurizio!

mau, francesco e gunnar, thanks for your macro-attention. is right that in the miniature it's impossible to see anything (not an internet photo...). and i was wrong with category, i had to choose humor. this gentleman spent 45 minutes, without to move, shooting at the little tree. during this time shadows walked in his direction. it was quite funny

Hi dear Andrea,

Very well work,my friend!Nice reflection and nice b&w tones.

The title fit perfect to your shot.

Right away to my favourites!!!

Best regards(Bobby).

I see the humor in this for sure.

The shadows are great. This is a very interesting image indeed.

Lovely natural scene - for a change, after so many man made scenes you have presented.

I very much like those shadows of branches pointing towards the man. His clothing fits well, almost camouflage gear.

If I may suggest something, I'd darken the lower part a little in order to give some bottom weight to this fine photo. This idea of mine comes from old darkroom times in 80s and could be worth an experiment?

thanks a lot. markku, your suggestion seems very good. i am not so satisfied about the traitment here, i have difficulties with green, and your idea can be the solution. i will try. ciao everybody

Very perceptive capture again, Andrea. As always, I enjoy your point of view! Funny that the shadows of those tall trees kept advancing, enabling you to take this photo. Marku's suggestion sounds interesting, and I wonder what it would look like when applied. (Wonder as well what it would look like if the little tree top wasn't cropped ..? although I'm not sure if that would improve things here :-)  Hope you are well -- Ciao, Andrea. Gr, M

the expanse of the ground, the hugeness of the shadows, the tininess & awkwardness of the man, all make this very compelling, Andrea. dp

Well, certainly a different concept, though, at first glance, especially at thumbnail size, the shot appears to be unremarkable.  More depth here than first apparent.  The advancing shadows of the trees, in an attempt to protect the small tree, are threatening the intruder who in turn is threatening the smaller tree.  I didn't get it at first but some of the comments have turned a light on for me.  Marjolein makes a valid point about the crop but I think there is enough here to demonstrate your concept, that of parental protection.  (even though the trees do not appear to be of the same species) :-)  Best, LM.

after the precious observations of markku salonen, after the versions proposed by niki barbati and fabrizio r (by mail, so i cant attach them), after the complete resume of len marriot, i add here the new version done after all this ideas of my friends, that really have been precious friends. i'm only sorry becouse i cant try the suggestion of marjoleine about the cropped tree, only becouse in the original it's cutted as here....

The new version is fine Andrea! The new tonal contrast make clear the man on the shadow and the whole photo is more definite and readable, great work!
