It is always a great way to show a human, with the passion of his life.  I like this fellow and his birds.  I think it unfortunate, though,  that the bright white part of the background draws attention away from what is important in the picture. A slightly different angle would have corrected that.

What grabs me here is the look in his eyes. He seems serious or a little sad. I'm thinking that maybe he loves his birds more than people? I always enjoy studying a person who has a passion about animals/birds; somehow, they see life in a different way I think. I don't pay much attention to the quality of the image when I feel a story in it. Wonderful work.

Marvellous portrait and composition.  The DOF is very right to show the pigeons sufficiently to bring them into the story.  His gaze seems to show him deep in thought and the angle you have chosen is very well judged indeed.  A well fitting title.
