Construction Crane

i do like this photo, for the light enfatized by the black sky, that leave our attention to the elevator, and seems to introduce it to us. i had a look to yours bw, i have seen that you use it with and for the light. bravo, good use of a digital camera

Good of you to drop in here.  Most of what you see here was manufactured in PS via Channel Mixer.  But one needs a means of capture when a scene presents itself & the little P&S does the job quite nicely, for web size to 12"x18" at least.  Best, LM.

Excellent minimalist composition.

This was one of the construction cranes working on the addition to Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie.  Right across the street from Tim Horton's Coffee Shop, a regular haunt of mine.  Who could resist?  It just begged to be photographed.  Thanks for the validation.  Best, LM.

I work with a lot of these cranes in the UK and occaisionaly photograph them (for commercial rather than aesthetic puposes) but just now and again you will get a situation where the light hits the latticed jib perfectly and they look very dramatic, as indeed this one does! The sharp contrast against the sky is very powerful. I think I have a couple of dockside cranes on my porfolio somewhere where this is also apparent.

Thanks for stopping by & taking the time to comment.  Makes it all worth while.  I spotted this one while on my way to my favourite coffee shop.  A bit of hanky panky with Photoshop increased the drama in the sky and a judicious crop did the rest. Best, LM.
