This capture deserves a lot of discussion and a lot of praise. But as long as my English is not the language that would enable me to stretch and extend so I will acknowledge two things:

In this photo Len Marriott broke the Rule Of Third and still presented a very balanced and stable photo which is very expressive with this historic Memorial.

The second, this photo as it is simple as it is beautiful and wonderful, even the sky that appeared in one white color, due to the absence of clouds for example, it is in great beauty and I read this as a reflection of the clarity of the hearts of the soldiers in the memorial.

The background and those lofty trees must acquire another story of speak.

Thank you Len for the sharing of this masterpiece

I'm overwhelmed by & very pleased with your response to this 50 year old shoebox treasure.  When visiting a location for a short period of time one has to deal with the lighting conditions existing at the time.  As it turns out, the soft overcast lighting actually worked in my favour, allowing details to be evident which would have been hidden in deep shadow had the sun been shining that day though the textures such as the raised numerals are not as bold as they could be.  Life's a compromise I guess.   Thanks for your interest in this one and for your prompting which encouraged my efforts to post.  Best, LM.
